ESPA EST 2.0

The basic tool indispensable in this process is a specially developed, designed and evaluated Spanish business course. Hence, the aims and objectives of the project cover also the development of language skills, business skills and mobility of the project participants. In the process of works under the project, 4 main products of ESPA EST Project will be transferred: ESPA Learning, ESPA Dictionary, ESPA Info and ESPA Base. These products will undergo minor substantive (methodological) and quality modifications, an then will become properly adapted linguistically to countries which will participate in the project. Moreover, two new products will be prepared to enhance business communication of entrepreneurs from Middle and Eastern Europe with Spanish companies and institutions (ESPA-B2B product) and for modern dissemination (ESPA-Society product). The impact of the proposal on target groups and sectors will in short term be visible  mainly in development of language skills and access to useful business information while in long term in increased competitiveness and mobility of end-users on labour market. The impact on geographical areas will in short term include increased international private and professional  contacts, in long term increased business exchange and improved cohesion of European market. The consortium includes a group of six companies and institutions from Spain, Poland, Bulgaria, Romania, Slovakia and Latvia.

The ESPA EST 2.0 Project (www.espa2.eu) is a result of the transfer of practices, experience and products created in the process of the ESPA EST Project implementation in 2005-2007 within the framework of Leonardo da Vinci Project by partners from Spain, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland. The fundamental reason for the Project ESPA EST resulted directly from the fact of UE expansion to new West European countries. First of all, the issue was to introduce and promote new opportunities of business contacts for SME sector between Western and Eastern Europe, including Spanish-speaking world. Apparently, business contacts between Spain and Middle-East Europe are well developing, but in many cases lack of knowledge of Spanish language poses an obstacle in their dynamisation. The source of solution to this important problem is: to create materials and tools for learning Spanish which would simultaneously help implement business purposes. Project ESPA EST 2.0. implements all purposes of Project ESPA EST, and, furthermore, transfers the results of the project to new countries of Middle-East Europe (Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland). The main aims and objectives of this project are as follows: development of common business strategies, contribution to the growth in competitiveness of European companies, as well as facilitating the development of commercial contacts between SMEs in Middle and Eastern Europe with Spain.

E-Bridge to mobility

The “E-bridge to mobility” project is intended for people who want to travel to other EU member states in pursuit of education, work or other personal goals. The project targets two groups, namely people under 25 and those over 65, from Bulgaria, Romania, Poland and Slovakia (source countries), who plan to move to older EU member states including England, Germany and Spain (destination countries).
The objective of the project is to facilitate the mobility of the target group members by assisting them in submerging themselves in the real world of the new country and to enable a smooth and successful pursuit of their professional and personal goals. An important issue of the project in this respect is to develop the ability to use ICT tools in the process of lifelong learning of languages and the acquisition of information, which will spur European mobility.
There are eight participants involved in the project coming from the source and destination countries and representing a variety of organisations including three universities, two SMEs, a language training centre, a consulting company and an educational foundation. All the partners have a long-standing experience in international European projects with qualifications and skills in all the spheres essential for the project such as cooperation and evaluation in multilingual and multicultural environments and foreign language teaching with innovative ICT solutions.
The project applies a whole range of modern methodologies concerned with the creation and development of educational content for ICT-based solutions. We implement IML (Integrated Micro Learning), e-learning, m-learning and multimedia learning. CLIL method (Content and Language Integrated Learning) is also used for the preparation of teaching materials.
The most significant project results accomplished so far include five primary educational products: Language course, Mobiles, Screensavers, Pictionary and Basic Law. The “Language course” product is an online e-learning course for the languages spoken in the destination countries. Other products are auxiliary and complement the course. Each of them presents specific teaching content, which is most suitable for a given IT solution.
We have completed technological products including a website, an e-learning platform, interactive forms, screensavers software, an e-mobiles package and WEB 2.0 functionalities. We have also undertaken numerous dissemination activities. One of the lessons learnt is the decision to reduce the scope of the target groups for greater utility, relevance and sustainability.

EuroLang 2012

The project “EuroLang2012” is addressed to participants, visitors and football fans coming to the European Football Championships, which will be hosted by Poland and Ukraine in 2012. The target group comprises people coming from various social groups, professional and educational backgrounds, high school and university students, job seekers, workers, adults and elderly people.
The main objectives of the project are: teaching Polish and Ukrainian and familiarising the participants of the Euro 2012 with the cultures of both host countries, which are less known in Europe. The project realization included preparing a multilingual internet service, where didactical materials presenting Polish and Ukrainian languages and cultures were placed.
The aim of the project was to develop the on-line language courses and practical information guide. The innovative teaching method was based on e-learning technology, assuring perfect functionality. The course users are offered a modern and useful tool to study the language and reality of countries, which in the eyes of Western Europe, still seem to be culturally distant. The didactic materials have been developed in 23 EU official languages plus Ukrainian and Russian. The project should diminish the distrust and unjustifiable fear of hosting countries among all visitors participating in Euro 2012, as well as, the cultural distance towards Poland and Ukraine.
The project consortium has been set up with the utmost attention to gather professional educational entities dealing with language teaching and promoting intercultural understanding and values. The partner organizations are located in Poland, Germany, Belgium, Bulgaria and Italy. The German company has its branch office in Sweden. The partnership consists of four highly profiled educational institutions (universities, educational and training centres), advertising company, which had strongly supported the project dissemination activities and company from SME sector.
Everyday work within the partnership was based on international cooperation, different points of view and experiences exchange. The efficient communication between the partners was possible thanks to the Extranet system especially designed for the project .

Others have a supplementary character. Glossary is a multimedia product supporting the course, Guide offers linguistic advice and is related to the course. These products are available in 25 languages (23 EU languages, Ukrainian and Russian). The section Audio offers mp3 files ready to be downloaded and “Poland and Ukraine” presents culture of both countries.
The project uses innovative approaches in didactical and technological aspects. Didactical materials were based on CLIL and VOLL methodologies and use the full immersion method of learning. Experts elaborating the language course derived the most effective solutions from a range of conventional and unconventional methods. To make the materials easily accessible and attractive, modern ICT solutions were applied.
Plans for the future include strategic activities connected with the choice of directions in which the project would be further developed. The planned didactic and quality assuring activities comprise systematic improvement of the materials elaborated within the project, adding new content, improving the existing materials according to the requests and suggestions of the Internet community members. The future dissemination activities are meant to assure the sustainability of the project results.

Slovake On-lineThe Project Slovak On-Line is a multilingual website which is designed to teach Slovak language to foreigners. The idea for the project came from the fact that there is lack of Slovak language learning materials in printed and electronic version (e-learning and Internet). Many who are interested in the language therefore do not have the opportunity to learn more about it – therefore they must rely on summer courses (relatively expensive and limited in terms of time and capacity), or give up their learning plans.









The Slovak language is particularly useful for:
  • Foreigners living in Slovakia
  • Partners in mixed marriages
  • Inhabitants of border regions
  • Ethnic Slovaks abroad
  • Slovakists and Slavists
  • Immigrants
  • Students
  • Tourists

The slovake.eu portal provides all such interested parties with the opportunity to learn more about Slovak in their home country, as well as learning its basics before arriving in Slovakia. In this way Slovakia and the Slovak language will become more visible abroad (the course will allow many persons to learn about the language and culture of this country free of charge). At the same time, the online course will allow people to learn the language in a faster and more flexible way (during leisure time) while enjoying themselves (games, tests, contests).

The website is available in five languages (DE, EN, EO, FR, LT, PL, SK), with the option of additional languages to be added (according users needs).

V-Lang

v-langThe V-Lang project aims at widespread use of Virtual Learning settings in on line language training which have already been successfully tested by commercial products such as Language Lab. The use of Virtual 3D Worlds in on line language training provides a full audio  communication system which allows to put into practice students language skills in  immersive and social environments, in Collaborative and Problem-Based Learning  environments that promote their Creativity and Innovation. To that end, V-Lang project focuses on the development, experimentation and dissemination of a free Toolkit built upon Open Source that will allow the swift integration of Virtual Worlds in on line language learning.

 

 

 

The Toolkit will provide a ready to install virtual village and classrooms allowing for immersive and collaborative training environments, as well as methodology guidelines for the integration and impact assessment of such approach into traditional on line language training. V-Lang "Creative and Open Language Training in Virtual Worlds" is a European project co-funded by Lifelong Learning Programme under Key Activity 3 – Information and Communication Technologies.
